Cardiac Rehab

REPORTS TO: Clinic Director
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
JOB OVERVIEW: Assist with the direct patient care of Cardiac Rehabilitation and related activities as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Provides cardiac rehabilitation treatments.
Communicates with the manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems, or plans.
Records daily cardiac session reports, portions of monthly ICTP (Individualized Cardiac Treatment Plan), and discharge summaries timely and completely.
Maintain patient records confidentially.
Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in an accurate and timely manner.
Complies with Idaho Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Medicare Laws.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/ emergent situations per protocols.
Maintain work area and supplies.
Maintain a professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
Follows all of Madison Memorial Hospitals Policies and procedures.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management.
Keep regular clinic hours as approved by the director.
Attends meetings as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or other qualifying Degrees (RN, DPT, OT…etc.)
Certification/ Licensure: ACLS certification for Health Care Providers.
Skills:
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Cardiac Rehabilitation Core Competencies.
Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 CM Diagnosis codes for Cardiac Rehabilitation.
Ability to recognize and monitor ECG waveform.
Ability to safely perform and monitor patient vital signs.
Working knowledge of computer programs.
Other Requirements:
Maintain current ACLS.
Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone, and in writing.

Office Manager (Madison Memorial Therapy Services)

Daily/General Information:

  • Schedule/check-in new and reoccuring patients
  • Have patients sign all paperwork on the iPad
  • Call person on all orders for therapy we receive from Dr.s’ offices to schedule
  • Make sure all orders are scanned into correct encounter number
  • Verify insurance coverage/benefit information and number of visits allowed
  • Obtain insurance preauthorization if needed
  • Keep track of all Cert Letters and Progress Notes that need the Dr.s’ signature and take them to HIM
  • Scan all cardiac rehab ICTP cert papers
  • Scan all applicable additional patient info. for therapists
  • Help with outpatient billing where applicable
  • Make sure inpatient billing sheets are correct
  • Enter patient co-pays if they want to pay them and run report for the collections cashier
  • Request badges for new employees or if they need reprinted
  • Update V Drive shared spread sheet for Therapy
  • Collect and turn in Therapists Cost Report Hours
  • End of month Medicare Report
  • Keep Meeting agenda file updated
  • Answer phone calls
  • Listen to voice mail and return calls
  • Get mail from mail room
  • Order office supplies from WorkPlace
  • Place work orders for Therapy Services area
  • Update employee files
  • Send and receive faxes
  • Keep track of visits on Pool/Gym Passes

Occupational Therapist Assistant

REPORTS TO: Clinic Director

JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for patient care under the direction of an Occupational Therapist. Supervises aids in direct patient care and related activities as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Provides occupational therapy treatments according to the occupational therapist’s treatment plan.
Communicates with the manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems, or plans.
Records daily treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries timely and completely.
Maintain patient records confidentially.
Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in an accurate and timely manner.

Physical Therapist Aide

REPORTS TO: Clinical Director

 

JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for patient care under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
• Prepares patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures.
• Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests; allaying fears.
• Helps treat patients by applying heat packs; paraffin dips; assigning patients into whirlpool; helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
• Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Provides equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to treatment area; positioning equipment for therapist access; positioning patient on equipment.
• Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
• Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Enhances physical therapy department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Provides assistance to therapist treating acute care patients and aiding in the safety and comfort at therapist digression.

Security Guard

REPORTS TO: Facility Manager

Position Description:
The security guard, surveys the hospital and hospital owned properties for illegal activities, suspicious behavior, or dangerous situations. Education requirements include, but are not limited to being POST certified, or the equivalent is required.
The security guard is responsible for policing hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry. Assists staff with unruly visitors and patients, alleviates facility safety and environmental conditions. The Security Guard will monitor the flow of people and employees and respond in emergency situations.
Name Badge: For security purposes, you must wear visual identification at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In order to adequately protect people and property, the security guard must know and enforce rules and regulations to prevent criminal activity before it happens. They may monitor points of access in a building or property to allow entry only to individuals with correct identification or authorization.
Periodically tours the building and grounds, examining doors and windows to determine they are secure and not tampered with.
Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, or telephones for assistance, according to circumstances.
Sounds fire signal to alert fire department and hospital personnel in the event of fire. Follow the direction of staff when a Code Red is called and do not breach fire walls.
Patrols hospital grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles.
Reviews video footage, as needed, in order to assess the security of the facility.
Escorts personnel to and from parking as requested.
Answers visitor’s questions concerning locations of various areas within the hospital.
Respond to distress calls and alarms.
While on duty, act as a liaison between hospital staff and local law enforcement.
Provides other services as deemed appropriate by hospital personnel related to safety and security concerns.
