Colby Edmonds is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine at Madison Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Colby is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care while helping patients and families feel informed and supported during stressful medical situations.

Colby earned his nursing degree from Brigham Young University–Idaho and completed his Nurse Practitioner education at the University of South Alabama. He is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). He has been practicing as a registered nurse since 2019 and as a nurse practitioner since 2025. In addition, he holds Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) certifications.

With extensive emergency medicine training, Colby is proficient in rapidly diagnosing, treating, and managing a broad range of medical emergencies. His clinical expertise includes rapid response and triage procedures, critical care management, central venous line insertion, advanced airway placement, cricothyrotomy, FAST exams, suturing, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertion, fracture reduction and splinting, and moderate sedation.

Colby’s philosophy of care is simple: prioritize what’s life-threatening, respect every complaint, and keep the patient at the center of every decision. He believes every patient deserves to feel heard, valued, and cared for with professionalism and empathy.

Originally from a small farming town in eastern Washington, Colby later served a two-year mission in El Salvador. His connection to southeastern Idaho grew stronger while attending BYU-Idaho, especially after his family relocated to Rigby when his father became a professor at the university. Today, much of his family proudly calls southeastern Idaho home.

Outside of medicine, Colby enjoys basketball, distance running, reading, and spending time with family. An avid marathon runner, he has completed races in Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York City, Chicago, Sacramento, Cincinnati, and Honolulu. He also enjoys relaxing with his dog, Beau, who he jokes is living a better life than he is.
