Edwin Wells, MD

Dr. Edwin Wells is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who serves as both an emergency physician and the EMS medical director at Madison Memorial Hospital. Dr. Wells is dedicated to providing life-saving care to a diverse patient population during some of their most critical moments.

He earned his medical degree from the Mayo Clinic and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Loma Linda University. Since beginning his medical journey in 2006, Dr. Wells has focused on high-acuity emergencies, including heart attacks, strokes, trauma, sepsis, toxicology, and emergency medical services (EMS) leadership.

Dr. Wells’ care philosophy centers on being a source of support and healing when an emergency strikes:
“I want each patient to feel we are here for them when emergency strikes.”

Outside the ER, Dr. Wells finds deep joy in family life with his sweetheart, Jennifer, their eight children, and their adopted son, Timofei. He enjoys backpacking in the surrounding mountains and finds peace and purpose in both nature and service to others.
