Dr. Kylin Kovac, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Kovac’s journey into medicine was inspired by his grandfather, who lost both legs due to complications from diabetes. Witnessing this experience sparked a lifelong desire to help others avoid similar pain and complications.

Today, Dr. Kovac brings compassion and expertise to every patient he treats. He has specialized training in foot and ankle surgery, diabetic wound care, and limb preservation.

Dr. Kovac received his Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He then completed his medical schooling at Des Moines University, where he earned a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration.

He completed a three-year surgical residency at Detroit Medical Center, where he received comprehensive training in podiatric surgery, trauma surgery, pediatric injuries, and reconstructive surgery. During this time, he developed extensive experience treating diabetic patients, focusing on limb salvage and diabetic wound care.

His surgical training includes procedures ranging from hammertoes and bunions to ankle fractures and complex foot and ankle reconstructions.

Dr. Kovac is a member of the American Medical Association and the Idaho Podiatric Medical Association, and he is a Board Certified Associate of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS).

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kovac enjoys sports, biking, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife and six children.
