Mark A. Weight, MD

Mark Weight, MD, is a board-certified spine surgeon with Western Spine Institute who performs spine surgeries at Madisonhealth’s Madison Memorial Hospital. Specializing in surgical care for conditions of the spine, Dr. Weight provides patients in our region access to advanced spine procedures, including disc replacement surgery, close to home.

Dr. Weight earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School and completed specialized spine fellowship training through John Peter Smith/Fort Worth Affiliated Hospitals. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Academy of Neurological and Orthopaedic Surgeons.

While highly trained in surgical treatment, Dr. Weight takes a conservative, patient-centered approach to spine care. Whenever appropriate, he encourages patients to explore non-surgical treatment options before considering surgery. When surgery is the right next step, he works with each patient to understand their options and develop an individualized treatment plan focused on improving function, reducing discomfort, and supporting a better quality of life.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Weight enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors. His interests include riding motorcycles, motocross, and outdoor recreation.
