SPEECH & LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY

The speech-language pathologists in the Therapy Services department evaluate and treat speech, language and cognitive deficits–as well as oral, feeding, and swallowing skills. Patients who would benefit from speech therapy are those with a history of difficulties with:
  • Dysphagia (Feeding/Swallowing)
  • Cognitive Communication (Memory/Attention/Problem solving)
  • Speech Articulation Disorders (Apraxia/Dysarthria/Phonological)
  • Aphasia (Understand or Express Language)
  • Social Communication
  • Voice (Correct volume and voice quality)
  • Fluency (Stuttering and Cluttering)
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication — AAC (Expressive and/or Language Comprehension Disorders)
