Flash Flood Warning
This afternoon what the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning. Most of us do not know what that means or what we should do. Included in the warning, the National Service included some preparedness actions (click on text to read more of warning alert).
MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE…TURN AROUND…DONT DROWN.
We hope that you remain safe and that the farmers will retain a good crop.
