Jonathan B. Hancock MSA, DO
Dr. Jonathan Hancock is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement and sports injury care. He offers advanced surgical options that help patients recover faster, move better, and get back to the activities they love.
Dr. Hancock is the only surgeon in Southeast Idaho performing anterior total hip replacements, a specialized procedure that often results in faster recovery, less pain, and fewer activity restrictions compared to traditional methods.
He also offers the Oxford Press Fit Unicompartmental Knee Replacement, a minimally invasive procedure that replaces only the damaged portion of the knee while preserving healthy bone and ligaments. Dr. Hancock is one of only two surgeons in Idaho trained in this advanced technique, making it a rare option for patients seeking a more natural feel and faster recovery.
Whether treating a complex injury or chronic joint pain, Dr. Hancock delivers comprehensive orthopedic care with a focus on restoring movement and improving quality of life. His expertise includes anatomic and reverse total shoulder replacements, total knee replacements, arthroscopic repairs for rotator cuff and ACL injuries, and specialized treatment for thumb arthritis, including CMC arthroplasty. He also cares for a wide range of sports-related injuries, helping patients return to the activities they love.
Always seeking better outcomes for his patients, Dr. Hancock was the first surgeon in Idaho to implant the Persona IQ smart knee, a Bluetooth enabled device that tracks patient specific gait and range of motion to support better recovery and long term outcomes.
Originally from Idaho, Dr. Hancock was raised on a ranch and farm and is proud to be practicing in his home state. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and staying active through sports and the outdoors.
