“At a young age Dr. Covac was inspired by his grandfather who lost both of his legs due to diabetes. His desire was to gain a greater education in an effort to help others avoid that same outcome.

He received his Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He then completed his medical schooling at Des Moines University, obtaining a doctorate degree in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration.

The focus of his three year residency at Detroit Medical Center included comprehensive training in podiatric surgery, trauma surgery, pediatric injuries and reconstructive surgery. He has extensive training in the challenges of diabetic patients in performing limb salvage and diabetic wound care.”
