Suicide in Idaho: What You Need to Know
According to the Idaho Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics:
- Idaho ranks 8th highest in suicide rate in the U.S.
- Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for Idahoans ages 15-34
- 61% of Idaho’s suicides from 2013 to 2017 were by firearms
- Between 2013-2017, 110 Idaho school children (ages 6-18 years old) died by suicide; 25 of those deaths were among children age 14 or younger
