Their treatment is aimed at primary prevention, and they implement measures to forestall the onset of chronic pain or minimize the progression of current pain. We discussed this role with Dr. Russell one of the credentialed pain specialists at Madison Memorial Hospital: What conditions are best managed through your clinic? Dr. Russell: Many of the common conditions we see on a regular basis are associated with chronic pain symptoms. The most common is back pain followed by neck pain with a spectrum all the way down to...

Skin Cancer Awareness

May 10th, 2016

Have you checked your skin lately? According to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Idaho has one of the “highest rates of melanoma diagnoses and deaths in the U.S.” Because of this, Madison Memorial wants to help you protect your family this summer and every sunny day ahead! There are three main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and malignant melanoma. “Melanoma is the most aggressive form of skin cancer and if not caught early can spread to other parts of the body and can become fatal,” says the website of the IDHW. It is also the most preventable skin cancer because most cases begin with over-exposure to the sun. The gem state is commonly known for great outdoor recreation opportunities, so preventative care to malignant melanoma is crucial. Please remember: Avoid tanning beds Use sunscreen always and reapply after swimming, sweating and every 2...

Compassion at Madison Memorial

July 17th, 2015

What does compassion mean at Madison Memorial?

The literal meaning of compassion is, “a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.”

Knowing that compassion is a ‘strong desire to alleviate the suffering,’ it would be extremely important that the people who attend those at hospitals would have a heart of compassion.

Find a compassion poster in the halls of Madison Memorial and write what compassion means to you.

I would like to give a big shout out to the prep nurse I had yesterday. Her name is Jennifer and she was terrific. She kept me calm during the whole process. She knew how to complete every step perfectly. She knew I had some health problems and she handled them perfectly. Thank you, Jennifer.

They are miracle workers! I had a complex tear of my medial meniscus. I had surgery on Tuesday and today is Friday and I’m back to moving normally without pain. Thank you! I will continue to be careful and let it completely heal. I’m excited to be back to normal activity. I loved the surgery center and Dr. Eysser. They treated me well. 🥰

I went in for an echocardiograph/gram and meant yet another wonderful person! Mrs. Marci Debbie in Echo performed my procedure and I am so glad to have gone in that day at that time. Mrs. Marci was so professional, caring and an amazing person to have gotten to meet and know in our brief but memorable time that we shared together. Mrs. Marci is another outstanding employee in the Madison Memorial arsenal of professionals and staff members. Thank you Mrs. Marci for being there that day to perform my echo, it was an honor getting to meet you! May our Lord bless you and each and every member of Madison Memorable Hospital. Again, just another reason to trust your care of health with Madison! Thank y'all so very much!
