Madison Memorial Hospital would like to commemorate a valuable team member that retired this year. Patricia Cutler was a nurse here at Madison since 1982, providing exemplary care to our patients for 34 years. We would like to thank her for her service by sharing what her friends say about her here at Madison. “Patricia Cutler is amazing! Pat is the nicest, kindest person I know. She is the best listener, and always makes me feel like I am the most important person in the world. Pat is the most wonderful, caring, nurse ever! Her patients always know they are in good hands and well taken care of with a warm smile, soothing, calm, caring voice, of a confident, competent nurse. I will miss you Pat.” “She is always considerate of others.” “Her smile is contagious!” “She brings comfort to those are in pain.” “Pat is the type of person...

Each individual is valuable to a community. One individual who stands out in her consistent and dedicated service is Betty Spencer. Betty worked as a Housekeeping Aide at Madison Memorial Hospital for the past 16 years. Her service has helped strengthen the hospital as a quality healthcare establishment. Betty was a remarkable trainer of new staff. She was always concerned about the patients and was friendly with everyone she came in contact with. When asked why she stayed for so long she responded that she enjoyed her work and serving those around her. Betty said that the most important advice she could give to others was to enjoy what you do. In her free time, she plans to continue to enjoy life doing things she loves such as fishing and camping. From everyone at the hospital, we’d like to say, “Thank you, Betty, for your service,” and wish you the best...

Eve Denny

Recently, Eve Denny completed 30 continuous years of service at Madison Memorial Hospital. Eve came here as a pharmacist in 1986 and she has been a valuable asset to the pharmacy team.

During part of her dedicated service, Eve lived in Fish Creek, Idaho which is about a 55 minute drive. When she was on call, she stayed at a place in Wilford in order to be closer to the hospital when needed.

Overall, Eve enjoys working at Madison Memorial because it is a little smaller. She claims it feels like being a part of a family.

Thank you for your dedicated continuous service Eve!

Livy leaves Madison for good. Livy is 6 years old and had a brain tumor removed at Primary Children’s hospital. Then had follow-up chemo treatments at Madison. The team at Madison have grown to love her. We wish her a very healthy life ahead.

Meeting Room

11:30am-12:30pm (bring your lunch!)

On February 25, the hospital will be hosting a wellness activity focusing on yoga. The first class will be held at 10 am at the billing office and the next will be held at 1 pm at the hospital’s meeting room. Bring your yoga mat or towel and come learn more about yoga and experience for yourself what it can do for you! Yoga is: “any of the methods or disciplines prescribed, especially a series of postures and breathing exercises practiced to achieve control of the body and mind, tranquillity, etc…” (dictionary.com). People who aren’t familiar with yoga tend to think it’s bending your body in crazy ways and shapes–which it definitely can be! But the truth is there’s so much more to yoga. Yoga keeps us physically and mentally healthy. It helps us journey inward to understand ourselves better. It helps us find peace and serenity in our lives. I’ve been practicing yoga for over four years now and have come across many people who are intimidated by yoga. Something I often hear is, “I’m...

Madison Emergency visits due to falls almost doubles during the winter months in comparison to the summer months. Ice/snow can contribute to this number. If you’re like me, your home has had ice buildup to the point of ice dams in your gutters and ice cycles that drip on your driveway, sidewalk, and front steps. The following three steps will help prevent you from the fall I experienced last night: 1. Eliminate ice. Despite the claims salt devastate your concrete, there are special types of ice melt that are better to use on concrete. All you have to do is throw it on the ice, let it sit for about an hour and then shovel the slushy ice away. 2. Ice dams will melt, drip onto the ground and cause the ground to be icy. Stop that from happening by melting the ice dam with calcium chloride ice melter. Make sure you do NOT use rock...
