Prevention is the best solution. Mammograms are required to detect breast cancer early. Women who have a family that is genetically predisposed and all women above 40 should consider an annual mammogram as a part of their healthcare. Wear Pink this Day to Remind Others to take steps of prevention.

Women’s Health Conference Happenings

Come be enlightened about your health with your lady friends and family.

Alma & Lydia Larsen Recently, Madison’s Family Maternity Center was named the Larsen Family Maternity Center in honor of Alma & Lydia Larsen. The Larsens generously contributed to the Madison Foundation for this naming opportunity. The foundation uses these funds to better serve the health needs of our community with our hospital. A few examples include the Family Maternity Center’s canopied entrance with heated sidewalks to keep families safe as they enter. Funds also were used to supply the Maternity Center with new and additional equipment. The generosity of the Larsen family not only honored their grandparents with this naming opportunity, but will bless children from around the world who are born at our specialized delivery center.   Alma & Lydia carried a legacy of faith, service, sacrifice, and dedication to their family and this community. Alma and his parents, who were Norwegian immigrants, were among the first settlers in the Rexburg area. Alma married...

Remember Our America I appreciate those who have served our country, including my brother and two brothers-in-law who were in the Navy during World War II. I have a love for America that was ingrained in me from the time I was a young boy. My father was born in Australia and his family immigrated here as did my maternal grandparents who came from Sweden. My grandfather, Francis D. Horman walked across the plains of Wyoming to Utah with a company of Utah Pioneers. Can you believe that I knew my great-aunt, Annie Horman Green who was a little girl in that wagon train? They came here because America was the land of opportunity. They came because of the freedoms we enjoy and sometimes take for granted. I am truly grateful to live in the United States of America. May God continue to bless America. – Fred S. My heart...
Madison Pulse Life Saved Close to Home A life saved touches us close to home. Cameron Brown’s wife received CPR while working at Kershaw Elementary in Sugar City. Her life was saved due to the quick response of 7 co-workers. The MMH Education Department recognized these individuals at an assembly held at the school on May 28th. Susan and Heather from Education expressed gratitude for the willingness to step up and quickly respond in a crisis situation. Personalized certificates were presented to each rescuer. Expanded Services MMH has expanded laboratory and radiology services to Teton Medical Group/Teton Urgent Care. We are excited for this new expansion. Employees who wish medical assistance at this facility will receive the same discounts on these services as they do here at MMH. March of Dimes – for Babies On Saturday, May 31st our NICU staff partnered with EIRMC to sponsor this fundraising event at Snake River Landing...
The Forgotten Memorial Day The noise of the hot wind adds to the drone of lawn mowing machines this Memorial Day. For many, today marks the beginning of summer vacations. A day to remember those who have given their lives defending our freedoms. Remember those who sacrificed for us. Many would have loved to live the lives we enjoy. Including awakening to a beautiful sunrise with an invigorated body, blossoming opportunities for work and play, and precious moments we share with family and friends. Nonetheless, their sacrifice denied them of these simple joys. Below are three ideas to help us commemorate this special holiday: 1. Become familiar with the rights these soldiers fought and died for- They sacrificed not only at home but across the globe. Why?  for a more perfect Union, to establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity. The Constitutional Rights, and Amendments to ensure our freedoms are excellent...
